Hello m8 :D

Just waiting for Dave to stick his head in. He's been talking too much about what he's been up to

"Maybe" thinking about a change as PTMW! is 70K+ & over 4 years old now... Don't think I can stretch to a new WRX Wagon & a RAV4 D4D is fine, but doesn't grab me the same way - I need SPEED & HANDLING :D

So, tell me all...

Needs to be a Wagon, sorry, Estate. Diesel not out of the question, but need to know tuning options. Do they come in 150 guise?

What do I have to do to get the same performance as PTMW! ? Nuts to top end, just want acceleration :D

Any advice that'll help me make my mind up...

:)

vRS in 4x4 or not? 4x4 TDi or not?

No to both.

Although they do the TD 4X4 on the Continent.

OK, lets say you buy the seciond hand one as above:

Jabba remap, take you to about 220-230ish,

Who else is lurking on here?

'lo there!

There's somebody on here you would know who's just got a new Fabia RS LOL

Other option would be to get a 4x4 hatch. Boot is near enough as big as the estate, just that it has a slopping roofline rather than being squared off. Same mods apply as above.

There are a few on the Skoda UK used car list with prices from

Its gotta be an Estate m8 :D

;)

What are the diesel tuning options? I see that you can buy a PD130 6spd jobby... What's possible to get out of that?

KW Varient 3 - 3 way adjustable suspension, height, bump, rebound. Hand built to your specifications :D Yep, Brembos go straight on with the aid of a new mounting bracket (

IIRC, about 190-205bhp and about 300ish lb/ft :D I'm sure one of the Fabia guys will enlighten you on that as its the same engine as the Fabia RS

300ft/lb?

:D

Might be a bit of an underestimate :D

So - Diesel 4x4 Estates as RHD imports?

Puff

Basically the Skoda is based on the Audi/VW bits & the Audi 4x4 transmission so anything that can be done to an Audi or VW can be done to a Skoda. Its just a case of bit matching, swapping or visiting one of the many VAG tuning specialists. Many Briskodians tend to favour Jabba but there are others

The std internals can be run close to 400 bhp (try doing that with a Subaru) & in the unfortunate event of it going bang Audi, VW, Seat & Skoda all use the same basic 1.8T engine so plenty of good "cheap" secondhand lumps although I think you will have to try really hard or do something dumb to break it.

When driven gently the Skud also gives a good mpg unlike a Subaru, Prices of secondhand ones are still cheap yet they dont apear to be falling any further

Re Brakes Godspeed now do kits for them, Ive got the AP 4 pots + 335x32 discs although you will need to go to 17" wheels, Ian also does a Brembo kit so talk to him about swapping, you may only need a new set of mountings.

Re wheels, I bought a new set of 4 with Toyos for
