Washer bottle (with factory Xenon's) capacity?

Featured Replies

I'm stuck at work with no way of pre-mixing screenwash before chucking it in the car - so it's time for mental maths and pouring in the concentrate and water and allowing car movement to do the mixing for me :)

Can anyone tell me what the capacity of the washer bottle is on a FL Octy 2 with factory Xenon's?

Allows me to do the maths and make sure I get a good combination of concentrate/water.

On my mk1 it was 5.5litres (iirc).  Have a feeling it said the capacity was mentioned on blue filler cap.  I believe a standard tank is 3litre, and the xenon tank is 5litres on the mk2.

Owner's manual...

It's about 5 litre - I'm getting about 4.5l in when the warning light has just come on

In fact, from the (PDF) owners manual:

The filling level of the container is about 3 litres and about 5.5 litres on vehicles which have a headlight washing system.

standard is 3ltrs f you have headlight washers it is 5.5 ltrs. don't think it matters what lights are fitted. as above post

Thanks all. Did have a look under the blue cap but nothing there and manuals - they are for those with no courage :)

It was only a 1L bottle of concentrate, so assuming there was some left even with the warning light on, I put that all in and then it took around 3.5L of water before it was full.

Which is interesting to know that you still have about a litre left after the light comes on....

the washer bottle is the roughly the same size on all cars

i think the headlight washer bottle has about half a litre more capacity
