CR170 Gearbox identification

Featured Replies

Hi all

Was wanting to change the oil in the gearbox of my CR170, but it seems there are two types of oil, and to know which one, I need to look for some code stamped on the box, to see if it's <29 05 01 or >30 05 01. Guess it's some sort of serial number.

Does anyone know roughly where to look for such a code ?

Could it be on the paper build label in the boot?
On the body of car on left side under the lift up floor.

I doubt it, but I'll have a look.

It was Skoda technical who emailed a response to my enquiry and told me I needed to check the code on the gearbox housing.

Cheers

If I knew what the gearbox type was, I could do a google image search and see if I can see any photos of boxes to see where the number is.

Anyone know what type it is ?

I've just looked on mine and it has transmission type as a 3 letter code on that sticker.
