VRS breaks rust every night? Wierd?

Featured Replies

Does anyone else find that there breaks have rusted slightly over night and find the first break of the day unpleasent?

Which breaks make an ideal upgrade? I was thinking of Brembo with ferodo ds2500, any shed any light here?

Thanks!

It happens to them all.

Give your brakes a an easy first use to clean them off.

try putting some Oil on the disks before you go to bed....you coudl spray some WD40 through the alloys on to the disk

Nothing worse than a rusty and unpleasant tea break....

hi shifty,

as a newish vrs owner I was horrified to see the discs on custard go rusty in seconds after washing the wheels down...

soon clears through use though

Thank you for that fascinating snippet of a day in the life of custard........

Of all the cars I've owned, the Skoda ones do "rust" at an alarming rate ... seems like they only have to see a drop of water and they're rusting. Is there something different about the alloy they use for them compared to other manufacturers, or is it some new EU environmentally friendly thing?

Mind, if he uses Joel_VRS's solution, he may well break wind - and a lot more!!

I'd be shocked if my car broke rust every night!! The pavement and road would look lie it was full of ginger ants!!!!!

I noticed this too on my Octy Vrs, however come to think of it the previous owner fitted Black Diamond discs and pads... and they still rust, maybe its psychological because you can see the nice shiny bigs discs!?

Bare steel rusts when wet?

Surely not.
