Hey guys finally got the door open, have no idea how! been looking at the locking mechanism and wondering what this price of metal wire/spring is? Is it right the way it is or do I have to move it ?

that looks like the spring clip I mentioned yesterday. The left piece of the upside down U needs hooking into the goldish coloured part. Seems like I was right yesterday after all lol

Thats what i thought you said, however when i do that then pull the handle it has loads of resistance then pings back to where it is in the picture?

yeah you need a screwdriver or something to lever it in place. That pic I posted yesterday might give you an idea.

I can get it on the clip its when its on the clip is when its a issue, i use a screw driver to put the spring on the goldish coloured part then when i pull the handle it pings off. 

The gold part looks slightly bent from the photo, surely it needs to be properly bent to retain the spring?

The door work fine now, opend and closes inside and out without the spring connected it thing is the handle doesn't spring back robots resting postion, so you have to push it back which doesn't bother me, changing caring before mot is due so as long as it he's in till August haha
