just had a quote £498 ouch !!!!!!!!

mine went june last year got a similar quote from skoda decided not to bother and will run without it again this summer too , I cant justify it when another stone could blow it again . think theres a mod that can be added to protect the compressor.

  Hi,

Don't think the compressor needs protecting from stones , don't you mean the condenser ?  ( the radiator thingy in front of the coolant radiator.)  I think there's a mod for that.

Not sure if this is any help but I see you're in Worcester, I used a company called auto agric near to Birmingham.

Albeit on a BMW and a few years ago now, I spoke to Robin, he came to my house, diagnosed a new condenser, supplied and fitted a new one for around £150.

May be worth a call?
