Why does my oil cap tighten vertically?

It looks like a standard VRS one, ive checked ..

Its not loose, its tight.. everyone else's tighten horizontal.. my car seems to want to be different, from wiring to fuel sender units, to oil cap it seems lol..

asking twice it seems, double trouble, feel free to delete one ..

This is because you have it fitted directly onto the cam cover. I've read it somewhere else on here, can't remember where, that you can fit the cap like this but the orientation is out. You either have to buy an after market cap or refit the extension bit like in the picture I posted above to get it to sit the correct way.

Hmm so by after market you mean like this http://www.superskoda.com/fabia/engine/skoda-fabia-performance-oil-cap-motorsport-v2-with-real-carbon-fibre-center-and-vrs-badge ??

And is this going to be any different, why will it not also screw on side ways?

and

he refereed to it as "oil cap extension"  seems no part exists, so

I guess i would like some more info :p

You really should look properly/better imo :)

The extension is fitted as standard so the filler cap is then level with the top of the engine cover.

Plenty of pictures on here or Google to be seen

Ok looking at that picture, looks exactly whats on my ibiza, however the one on the ibiza doesn't alter the use of the oil cap, and is know as a oil spill catch, as when you dribble it prevents exrta leak onto the engine bay. So the fabia one, slots into the head, then cap fits into it the rubber, leaving a void between tank and cap, relying on a rubber seal to be tight?.. hmm maybe better to do without ...

It's an extension so the oil filler is above the engine cover.

It fits the same as your oil filler cap, so seals just as well.
