No, its's not.

The VQ35DE engine was designed by, and is built by, Nissan in Japan with no input from Renault. Since Renault took a controlling stake in Nissan, they have 'borrowed' this engine for use in the Vel Satis & Avantime.

Don't believe everything Mr Clarkson says on TopGear.
