Anyone near warrington with a fault code reading device?

Featured Replies

Hi,

PAS problems on Fabia 1.9tdi, no dashboard light, just intermittent very heavy steering at low speed occasional odd wandery twitches at higher speeds, local Skoda garage say they can't read the codes as they change the software every 10 years and my Fabia is an 02 plate. PAS fluid level checked and OK, as far as I know i.e above the dipstick ball and below the start of the thicker section on dipstick.

Happy to pay a reasonable fee for assitance checking for any reported fault codes, please PM me

thanks

Gav

Total *******s from skoda dealers, should be able to read it fine

hi, yes their response did puzzle me. I suspect they think once I know the fault I could go elsewhere, or do it myself..disappointing that they would take that view. cheers

Try a local vw/seat/audi dealer, might be more willing to scan it

will do..thanks for the advice

you could just buy a cheap, usb> serial cable of ebay then download vcds lite (free) you can then scan your codes with a laptop, tablet. I believe there is a way to also do this with a smart phone. Pick a uk vendor on ebay, and you will have the cable in days.
