Rear screen washer did not work on 2012 Elegance Estate.

Featured Replies

She had put in neat washer concentrate and it went a bit claggy, then the rear screen washer packed up.   Must be blocked I said.   I started at the back, checked the nozzle was clear then went to the front, bumper off to see the pump - all well there!    Blow through from the back, very low resistance, fluid seemed to be going into the pipe from the front - a break somewhere?    After removing much trim I noticed a dribble down the rear left corner and eventually found a clean break in the pipe within the rubber trunk that links body to rear door.  The pipe is very hard and seems to have fatigued and broken at a place where it was tight wrapped to the wiring loom.   I have replaced it with more flexible pipe and all is well so far.  Have we a design fault here, has anyone else had this trouble?

Thanks for the warnings, I shall take note.  However, the pipe definitely broke, snapped across at the edge of the binding in the trunk which is not continuous all the way along the wiring/tube bundle.  There is no connector in the rubber trunk nor, for that matter, in the rear pillar, fortunately no wiring multiplugs either.  I think it succumbed to the very cold weather last winter (of which you will have been well aware) that will have made the pipe brittle.  My replacement is much more flexible and should survive better I think.   Missus gets regular hugs anyway and I did not blame her (much)!
