any vintage tractor enthusiasts here?

Featured Replies

Hi folks, was just thinking about tractors, im tempted to buy a vintage tractor like a fergusson te20 or maybe something else similar, not intending to use it as a tractor as such, just wanted a project/restoration thing to play at, anybody got any pointers as to what to look out for?

Watching with interest!

Maybe I should also have said that one of the advantages of subscribing is that I don't have to 'plough' through lots of old posts at once. I'm sure this thread won't give me a 'furrowed' brow either! :p

IIRC Rob (Octygone) had an interest in vintage tractors. It might be worth dropping him a line as I've not seen him post recently.

Comparable?? Colin drove a garden tractor as a youngster and likes nothing better than using a mini digger when I hire one!

Te20 are nice machines, thirsty on petrol 1gallon /hr and getting it to run on TVO (paraffin) is no mean feat especially if you forget to switch back to Petrol when you stop using it.

Fergie made it to South pole VW haven't yet! and that was over 50 yrs ago. Original is in museum in Christchurch and you have to admire the idea when you see how crude it was for such a journey.
