Parts Supply

Featured Replies

I have been unlucky enough to have had 2 accidents in my VRS since new 3 months ago.  The first I was rear ended and it tool a month to get a new rear cross member and tow bar.  Now with front end damage the repairer seems unable to find a new radiator.  and after a month of broken promises and other missing parts (including washer jets for the lights) they have now decided they can't actually give me a date as there aren't any in the factory.

Am I being fobbed off or is this a problem others have had?

I just had a new front end fitted on my vrs at chartwells in derby. Parts were in in 2 weeks (front light, bumper, x member and washer covers). They did an excellent job FYI.

Possible incompetence and unsure what part no's they need so are stalling. Given the vRS is still relatively new I doubt that many bodyshops/dealers have had them in for significant repairs as yet.

After waiting for ages I finally got the call today to say it's ready for collection. I'll post some before and after pictures when I get it back.

Good news.

Last time i crashed my company mondeo (a year back) it took 6 weeks to get it into the bodyshop - not sure if this is still the case but bodyshops seemed to be completely booked up - apparently insurers doing far more repair now than writing off combined with the recession where now many companies in general don't keep any spare capacity or excessive stock levels.
