What cooler running spark plugs can i use in my octy vrs?

Featured Replies

I might go with the coppers too but mine is running really well right now and I've not long serviced it. Its not a lot of money I'll await your verdict YellowCar!

I'm looking forward to fitting them, but as I've just posted in my other thread I was hoping to have my new actuator fitted by now which could reclaim my boost from the top end. Just trying to find somewhere now who could fit it in a reasonable amount of time, I don't fancy it as a driveway job much. Just want the running sorted before I fit the different plugs for a more clear comparison.

  • I think lazer iridiums would be a good bet, upgrading to the 2.0 tfsi coil packs with spacer adapters would also be a good idea for a cooler spark.

  • Pretty much the same here. At least then you know its done too

  • Coppers been bang on for me

CAR SEEMS LESS POWERFUL AT TOP END WITH THE COPPERS?/???

Did you check the gap?

Same here,BKR7E for 2 years and no difference at all, standard gap.

Is there a particular type of the BKR7E to order? some on ebay have a 1283 or 6097 code?

AIR MAS parameter incorrect too much air flow for maf to read even though its had a new maf after live data run intermittent fault code at low revs fine above 3000rpm

runs same fault code with both on no leaks after maf either so may be back to stock filter set up see if improves

Just fitted the BKR7E this morning, only been for a quick spin but seem fine. The lazer iridium were going quite nicely in my car but these feel a wee bit better on power pull. I've made other improvements lately too and these seem to have fitted in to how the car is running quite nicely. Certainly no worse than lazer iridium and 1/3 of the price, you can also be safer in the knowledge they're being a bit kinder to your cylinders by being a little bit cooler and dissipating heat better. What I would recommend is either these or the platinum if you want a bit more life out of the plug, for a mapped car there's nothing to be gained from lazer iridium, these do seem a little better.
