DSG problem

Featured Replies

Hi.

Please understand English is not my first language.

I will try explain what is wrong.

Superb eleg 170bph 09 53k

Since I got skoda I have problem with second gear.

Mostly always when I'm slowing down and gears drop to second gear I have something like "lint" (sorry I'm not sure if this is correct word)

So car is no that smooth as should be. Raves going up and down so it's fill like gear is to high to actual speed but is nothing with drop gear or go higher gear. It's only when I slown down. Only second gear.

I been at skoda dealer coz I have warranty 12month.

After 4 appointment at garage (DSG oil been change twice, basic settings was done twice)ther was called a man from Skoda main dealer or factory come with some electronic part worth £1400 but when he see this is a taxi I been told warranty is not cover taxi.

Basically for three months garage was looking where is the problem I not been charge any peny but now when engineer( man from main skoda) says warranty is not cover taxi.

I bought car 20.12.2014 and I report problem 09.01.2015.

Car was back to garage 03.02.2015 for DSG oil change.

This not help. Car is still the same

I told them I got car with faulty gearbox since I have car but been told car went to garage after month so it's not cover for any warranty. Coz I have to wait for appointment of course then time rich month time so they can't help me.

Now I have to pay if I want any job done on my car.

Any idea what can be wrong with gearbox?

Oh and when i was paying for car I been told I will get warranty coz car is register on my name. If the car willbe register for business then is no any warranty so sales man lie me

I have had 6 Skoda's that I have used for my business and I have never had any issues with the warranty being void because it is a business vehicle. Is there anything in the warranty paperwork that states Taxi's are not covered?

There is nothing in paper work about warranty is not cover taxi

Non of the dealers give warranty for taxi but skoda told me I will get warranty

If there is no mention of not being able to use the vehicle as a taxi in the warranty paperwork then I would be getting back to Skoda UK and asking them to show you where this exclusion is mentioned.

Regardless of if the vehicle has been used as a taxi the fault has occurred very close to the purchase, less than 3 weeks in fact. It is unreasonable in this instance for Skoda to try and back out of repairing the vehicle.

I would argue the fault was present at the time of purchase.

They can't wriggle on it,

A new car comes with 60k 3 yr warranty regardless of it's use as a taxi, it's only when you get into 3rd party ext warranties the fine print comes into play.

OP's car is an 09 so no warranty I'm afraid from Skoda, second hand warranty probably does exclude taxis and especially ones @ 6 years of age.

Sounds like the mechatronic is faulty, I notice you've had 2 oil changes in the box in 53K? or was it they changed it twice to try to fix the fault?

They changed twice and i dint have to pay. Was warranty job

They changed twice and i dint have to pay. Was warranty job

If that's the case then they should be coughing up as long as the same warranty paid for the box oil changes, however you may find the garage you bought it from did them out of good faith and not through the warranty company,

If you get no joy try disconnecting the battery overnight to reset the ecu habit patterns, if it works ok after that it'll be your driving style fighting with what the ecu thinks is the best set of orders for the box, also the dual mass flywheels tend to get tired at that mileage so it might be that rather than the mechatronic, listen when cold for a metallic ringing sound coming from the gearbox area, is it thudding like as if something travels on after the car comes to a stop?

Also the short time you've had it for it develop a fault like that should mean the dealer covers it, you can reject it as not fit for purpose but this takes time, the dealer I believe under trader rules has to stand by the product for a minimum 3 mths regardless of warranty or not under selling regulations.
