why does life always be contrary

Featured Replies

cos when I previously looked for diesel cars, there appeared to be buggar-all but petrols about.

Now when car hunting on behalf of the Son, and having decided the Rapid Spaceback was "optimal", and looking on Motorpoint to get a  sensible price indication.

56 of them, every bloody one a 1.6 diesel.

good value too.

Dammn!

The law of sod. My 2 daughters are very contrary so I have to use plenty of reverse psychology to get them to comply with my requests ;-)

Yeah Motorpoint had a batch of diesel Toledo's in when I was looking, I wanted petrol. They are only 4 miles from me. I had to travel 76 miles to buy mine from elsewhere.

wherelse?

Pentagon are all over, and cheap.

Vertu  / Bristol Street Motors likewise.

Arnold Clark if you're up North (or near Scotland)

Got these 3 price matching, and picked car up at bottom price from closest one only 44 miles away.

Brand new car at Motorpoint's ex-rental price - Yahoo!

Now I have it serviced at a much closer dealer who couldnt match the sale price.

Sigh,

Like is ould Da, wor Son, bes proper hard to please, or is rather particularly adept at arguing a case for an unusual specification.

So he wants the 89/90PS TSI, for the £30.00 road tax, in a SE trim level, for the goodies, or better still the Elegance spec, to get the non-charcoal black interior trim.

So, fleets of 90PS TSI's in "S" trim about, not so many with higher trim levels.

Sigh!

Course on the other hand, he dosnt want to spend his hard saved cash, so a reatively unlikely spec as a target, will make this painful experience much less likely.

Why not point him at aToledo 105 SE - loads of goodies, standard Startstop gets you £30 Tax too.

Or even better there is a Pre reg (64) Toledo I-Tech on autotrader right now for 11995. Loaded, Metallic, alloys, Leather/alcantara interior. Way more car for the money.

I would trade mine in for it today, if I wasn't 5000 miles away and not back in the UK for at least 8 weeks.

Ha Ha! your boy sounds very mature.  In fact I reckon that he's so mature you must be about 90.  In that case I'm impressed with your internet skills old guy.
