Tyres for Skoda Yeti 17 inch Matterhorn

Featured Replies

Hello Skoda Yeti owners

Im taking delivery of my first Skoda Yeti 1,4 tsi in 2 weeks - and really looking forward to it :-) ! I think the car will be perfect for me and my family who is looking for a "big small car " .!

I am however interest in fitting the best tyres to the 17 inch Matterhorn i have ordered. Can any of you let me know which tyres are the most quite and comfortable for this size rims ?

Happy easter !

Mine came with Pirelli Cinturato P7. I have only covered 300 miles since I collected the new car last week and I find the ride seems fine.... In fact better than expected for the type and size of vehicle.

It seems similar to the ride on my Tiguan which had Bridgestone Duellers.

Much too subjective a subject to give an honest opinion on, as everyone will have their own views on what suits them.

I use Kumho tyres and have been very happy with them, as they suit my style of motoring and the use I make of my Yeti.

Than you for your views and reply. I know it is a subjective matter to an extent. I will however not use mine for offroad but just normal driving. Thanks again

I am not a Yeti owner myself, but I wonder about your question. Why do you ask for new tyres, isn't the car delivered with useable tyres upon delivery? Have you bought a second hand car with worn out tyres?

Matterhorn is nice rims. I had the black ones as an option for my Octavia, but ended with black Blossoms.

I have been reading about Michelin "cross climate" tyres which are said to give an unusual combination of summer performance and winter capability which if true will meet my Yeti's needs completely.

I also have been reading about the Michelin Cross climate tyres, they seem to be the answer to the " changing winters for summers each year event". They are being released in May to the general public, but as yet no hint of pricing.

There is too much debate about tyres. They're black rubber things. It doesn't really matter whether you buy some cheapies or expensive ones - I have yet to be able to discern any difference between them, except some last longer than others.

My Skoda came with Continental ContiPremium Contact 5. They get good reviews in the various tests that I've read.

Well, I thought so too until I got some crappy ones on. Yes, they were second hand and came together with some nice alloys I bought. They looked sporty, round and black, and having a thread depth of around 5mm. So I gave it a try. It was a nightmare, no grip, no handling and noisy (a creepy rumble between 25 to 60 km/h). I will never, ever rely on cheap, unknown brands ever again.

Yes of course, there are good tyres in the budget and economic class. Some will definitely be good enough. A careful driver will not necessarily notice any difference in relation to the premium Brands.

BUT: I will definitely check out tyre tests and reviews before risking my life in traffic. I will always buy the best I can afford (price vs performance).

Ok, all above points noted, however when I bought 4 x steel rims c/w tyres from Mytyres(pneus123)here a la frog they came equipped with Goodride tyres, worried at the time as never heard of 'em, posted on here, but have been more than happy with their all round performance, however they are getting noisier now but that is after 4 winters use and they are now probably past their best!
