Future Citroen competitor

Just a concept for now but it will be bang on Yeti II in terms of size:

Ignore the bottle opener on the rear door, the oversized wheels of the concept, most of the detailing and certainly the interior and picture the production version. A near upright tail like the Yeti there... I think I might like a production version. But like all Citroëns I bet it will have a fishbowl sunroof that can't open. Sigh.

See the rest of the story here:  http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/motor-shows-shanghai-auto-show/citro%C3%ABn-aircross-concept-revealed

That's a handsome beast, though I'm not sure I could ever bring myself to buy a Citroen

If the windows get much smaller it'll be like sitting inside a machine-gun pillbox!  IMHO its diabolically ugly, nasty, vile,  revolting, yucky etc etc etc!  There seems to be a competition going on these days to make all cars as ugly as possible.  Whatever happened to elegant lines?

Citroen have upped their game big time in recent years.

Those who say they would never buy a Citroen clearly havent looked at them recently

In the same vain Skoda had the same comments 10+ years ago

While I will never be in the market for this type of vehicle, it does make a worthy consideration

Well if you want lots of glass so everyone can see you inside Fiat Multipla style, I give you the hideous new Ford Galaxy. Not since the Multipla have a car had such a huge amount of glass to metal ratio:

And to insult to injury they grafted a tiny but exact copy of the Ford Focus face onto the nose - which frankly looks ridiculous on something this big.

But back to the Citroën: most all cars these days have gun-slit window lines like that (apart from the runt above of course) - so the Citroën proportionally looks fine to my eyes.

Think there will be lots of external plastic, but think they have upped their mechanicals game over the recent past, better to a certain extent than Peugeot - I had 2 berlingos, the first had a siemens brain(Peugeot origin) the 2nd by bosch, the first had severe stutter probs in top at around 1400rpm cured by changing the chip and reprog , the 2nd didn't have the prob at all!

I had a Citroën c-crosser for two years, did almost 100k in it. Never had a spot of bother.

Don't think even Stevie Wonder would like it

Mad Max....

I like it if this is anything to go by:-

The Aircross also features a boost function that calls on the combined 313bhp of the electric motor and petrol engine when the driver accelerates heavily. This allows a 0-62mph time of 4.5sec. CO2 emissions are rated at 39g/km and fuel economy 166mpg.

If only my Yeti had figures like that!

Fuel economy in reality more likely to be about 50 then

I like the looks personally

This looks great! I think Citroën have always been very good at concepts

I quite like that too, but for once I think I'd prefer it if the concept got toned down just a little. But only a little.

The only manufacturer to get the finished article anywhere near the concept has been Landrover with the Evoque, and that, to my mind is the best looking 4x4 by far, especially in 3-door form

I've driven an Evoque Brimma, don't know if you have driven/sat in one.

Limited vision out of the rear window and if your over 5'6' you'll struggle to sit in the rear comfortably  ( in my opinion )

They do look nice though

I only said best looking, no mention of practicality :)

Nonsense. I'm 6 foot and sit comfortably out back in both the 3 and 5 door Evoque. They are surprisingly spacious out back - you don't have much view out if you're a child though due to those gun-slit windows. Which will be the same with this Citroën.

As to rear view out being bad: ever sat in a BMW X6 or the new X4? They have as bad a view out.
