1.2 tsi remap(anyone with a remapped 86)

Featured Replies

is the 86hp tsi the same as the 105hp tsi in the same way the diesels are or are they different?

anyone had an 86 remapped?

Yes, the 86hp will map the same as the 105hp tsi. Expect around 130bhp and noticeable increase in torque. Take your pick from Revo, Shark, APR for Flashing via OBD or a tuning box will give similar results.

JayMitchell has remapped his 1.2tsi 86bhp maybe pm him?

I was thinking of getting mine remapped also

Contemplating doing the roomster with a tuning box

Should hopefully see an increase in mpg

i have the 86 bhp fabia, remap with REVO, the power is about 130 bhp, very funny to drive!

thats impressive considering what you start with

any feedback on the tuning boxes

Is the mpg any better

yes the car goes much better, the 3rd gear pulled about 140 kph, top speed 210 215 kph, not bad at all, like a 500 abarth

any feedback on the tuning boxes

All crap, a remap is much better

yeag, that's because the 86 bhp and the 105 bhp fabia are the same, only the map is different

All crap, a remap is much better

Really??

How so have you had both to compare ??

Not quite the same but I had a tuning box on my tdi 75bhp and got it to 105bhp mark mpg was the same but when cold didn't run right at all no errors on vcds got it mapped in January this year now 126.8 bhp much better in all respect more lively torque is hugely improved pull well in all gears

My vote would be for a remap

If anyone does a search / google there are several threads in the past few years on here with Members using TMC Tuning boxes on a 1.2 TSI 86 ps.

PS

Same thing with Remaps done first the old way and now with use of the OBD Port.

Several threads where Members had it done, or asked about doing it on here

and in the Performance Upgrades section on Briskoda.

A tuning box interfaces between the ECU and various ancillary inputs and basically gives false data to the ECU in order to fool it into doing other stuff.

A remap is a permanent change to the vehicle software that alters the way it allows the engine to perform

In my experience tuning boxes are second rate in comparison

I have my 105 1.2 tsi remapped to 143bhp thats to the very limit and the torque is very noticeable

yeag, that's because the 86 bhp and the 105 bhp fabia are the same, only the map is different

the stroking length of the engine is slightly different actually

Who was it remapped by? Is this with standard exhaust and induction?

Really? It has a different crankshaft to give a different stroke?

Does it have a larger or smaller cylinder bore to give the same cc capacity?

Seems an expensive way for VW to go to produce different power outputs!

What price is it for remap cheers david

my local revo (bournemouth) and i am running forge intake kit and i was running on momentum at the time i asked for it and the final warrenty recipt said owner asked 140BHP+ but the 105 bhp are actually 110bhp @jimbo vrs

Yea dead on and I'll post the pic of the print out in a min
