In MK I use Anglo Continental Cars in Mount Farm for any work I choose not to undertake myself. Highly recommended.

Just wanting to check, have you removed the sump and cleaned the oil pickup?

And have you replaced or at least checked the oil feed pipe to the turbo?

Haven't done any of those I've removed the standard intercooler and all the pipe work ready for my fmic to gnon tomorrow and I have found shards of metal in the intercooler and the metal pipe that connects the maf to the turbo so that's coming off as well to be cleaned, removing air filter and replacing and going to inspect maf also, I have all the bits I need just need to get a new oil feed pipe, do you reckon I should remove the sump as wellbor leave t to the garage I just wanted to get the fmic in place for them and leave them to do the rest

Before you get some coilovers and other things I'd stick to the engine then.

From reading a few of your other posts, it looks like you've had a failed turbo or two. This wants to be your priority.

No matter what, I would suggest removing the sump since its a pretty simple job, remove and clean the oil pickup. These get blocked up quite easily and cause damage all over the engine, but the turbo is usually the first thing to go.

I would also remove the oil feed pipe to the turbo. These do get blocked up as well but are normally fine with a little brake cleaned and an air line down it. A lot of people replace them but I'd just give it a really good clean out.

Maybe do an engine flush before hand since they are only about £3.

Thanks mate yeah this is the 4th turbo, my first one blew about 18months ago, I got a new unit from here and Ali at unit 18 had said that it didn't sound healthy from the off and that failed after 2 days I was sent a replacement from the guy/company and when that was fitted it still sounded off, that lasted 18 months, vag tech advised to change intercooler and pipework as it had failed again within such. A short period and you can see the remains of the turbo in there, what is it you use to do an engine flush because I'll certainly do that, I was going out in the morning to buy a new air filter etc, but I may just ask vag tech to do the flush for me

Crickey.... Have you never questiond why four turbos has failed?!

I have a Skoda superb at work with over 230,000 miles now and its on its original turbo.

Well the first one went at about 105k ish, 2nd one failed after 2 days, 3rd failed after 18months this will be the 4th turbo I can only presume from the feedback from unit 18 that the 2 turbos that were fitted after the original one failed were not of a decent quality, hopefully the new one that I've just purchased is vag tech are going to fully check over the car when it goes in, I can only presume there may have been more shards of the last turbo stuck in it when the intercooler was cleaned last time which is why I've bought a new fmic to hopefully rule that out if it was a factor

I've used Auto PS in Brackley a couple of times. Not quite Bucks but just off a motorway or two. Brackley's quite a nice place too.

They're a good outfit.... Had a couple of nice reviews on here a few years ago.
