I finally decide to sign up for next years rally cross championship. :drive1:

So, from next spring i will be going all over the country, taking part in events.

I will be taking part in the stockhatch class, which is a class for cars with very few mods (except safety devices)

The car i will be using is my red Pug 205 1.6gti, which should be competative. (i'll post up some pics soon)

The championship is covered by men & motors and the motoring press, so look out for me!!!

excellent bit of news si!!

Good luck, hope you do well!

Nice one Si, but the question is, will the Pug be worthy of the Nestle/Cadbury sponsorship ? ;)

Nice one Si, best of luck.

Keep us all informed of where you'll be, I'm sure many of us would come and watch when fairly local.

Well done Si, look forward to hearing of your progress!

cheers for all the positive comments.

I'll put regular posts up on the forum about events and how i'm doing with the results.

I'm going to put a few briskoda stickers on my car to try and raise awaireness of the forum (every little helps)

Why the 1.6GTi rather than the 1.9? Is it to do with being competitive in a particular engine category? Curious, because one of my sons has just sold a 1.9GTi which he owned for a couple of years. It was quite a demanding little car to handle!

good question denis,

I use the 1.6 as there is a engine capacity limit on the stock hatch class of just 1600cc or just 1400cc if the car has 16 valves (ie metro gti's).

I also used to use the 1.6 for road rallies as the engine is much more "revvy" than the 1.9 and therefore easier to get the power out of when been drive hard, especially through the bends.

Are you running a 1.9 'box and rear axle?

Also don't forget Briskoda members get a discount with us and we do everything from extinguisher re-fills up :D

But not bodywork from the look of that avatar! Sorry, Si, forgot to add my best wishes earlier. Will watch your progress with interest. :)

Well 20Ks worth of damage takes a while to re-shell :(

Seats and belts are free if I'm in the car :D

You will both have to let me know when you are at Lydden racing:drive1:
