Now that has more road presence than the Octy vRS IMHO

i say bring on the cupra next year 240bhp

Got to eat my words again. The Leon does not actually look so bad in the flesh (185 bhp 2.0 FSi)

I hated it,but £16k is not bad and it is not as pig ugly as I thought

Darn,darn,darn

The FR's not amazingly sporty IMHO but a cracking deal - Skoda should be undercutting Seat I reckon.

Skoda regional manager up north told my brother they wanted to position the brand between VW & Audi, I guess the price of the Octy II reflects a step in that direction.

Some good photo's of a Leon with the optional bodykit:

What about the spec on the rest of the car though? Is it sold as a sporty model? e.g. what's the suspension, brakes, wheels etc.. like?

Thats the "sport" version which is mildly warm

The FR will follow with 200bhp and the Cupra with 240

I like

Saw one the other day - I'd have it in preference to the Octy :(

Hidden rear door handles.Nice.

Suppose the only deciding factor would be do you need a big boot or not.

I like it too, but then I liked the old leon! Looks chucky yet curvy!

I thought the new leon was quite ugly at first but have seen a few pics of them with the bodykit and decent alloys on and they look quite nice:thumbup: ,the back end reminds me of an alfa romeo because of the rear lights and handleless rear doors, lets just hope they don't fall apart like alfas do

The one with the bodykit on looks alright. The other ones look like people carriers.

£17k, but less powerful than the Octavia, I wouldnt say the Octy has anything to fear from that car... incidentally the new Octy is beginning to grow on me.

PS. Was it only me who when they first saw the bodykitted Leon a few posts before this one, that it was **** take referring to the thing on the roof  ????

It looks like the previous Civic, with an Alfa tailgate and a small opening... The new Octavia isn't an improvement on the Mk1 vRS either.

The Golf looks better than either.

Had a look at one the other day & I was very impressed, I don't need quite as much space now & I think it would make a good replacement for the Octy vRS.

The space in the back was amazing. If it goes & handles better than my Octy (which it should) I will be very tempted.
