Engine Choices - Model Range

Featured Replies

Is it just me or is anyone else really quite disappointed with the lack of petrol engines in the new Fabia? :( Pretty sure they could have managed more than a 1.2 TSI as the biggest petrol engine in the range :/

Especially since SEAT & VW can offer the 1.4 ACT 150PS engine, this is a cracking little engine and I'm sure people would have purchased this engine if it was produced in the new Fabia. I don't think there is even a 1.4 TSI option is there? Correct me if I'm wrong! The Monte Carlo should have this engine option in my opinion, I would definitely be at the dealership wanting to test drive then!

I'm holding out for a VRS..... but I wont hold my breath!!! Same engine as the new Polo Gti would be very tasty indeed!

I agree, the 1.4 TSI would be a good choice if it were supplied.  The 1.8 tsi would be really something for a vrs, but Skoda UK don't seem to like that engine it's not available on the Octavia even in the UK, but is elsewhere.   Does the fabia get the 1.4 in other countries?

No.

Yes. I will not consider the Fabia over a polo until at least the 1.4 ACT is available.

No

There are tons of alternatives to Skoda Fabia.

In the VAG-family the alternatives are Audi, WV and Seat.

As user eccleshill in another thread explained it:

Those who buy a car as a fashion statement, a wealth statement, a "look at me" statement or as a p***s

extension rightly look elsewhere.

but they are all the same car and engine underneath

the only difference seems to be the starting spec of the base model and what you can add

skoda has the lowest base spec and biggest option list, audi has the highest base spec and I think the smallest option list

Yes they are the same car underneath, except for engine choice, and the family resemblance is clear elsewhere too, but they are different cars on top and in total package.  I've not sat in any (I'm here on sojourn fromthe octy iii forum...its a bit quiet today)...but I'm guessing octy/ a3/golf/Leon differences are similar to fan/a1/polo/Ibiza differences.  If so then a lot of people will like the fabia for reasons like space and apparent value but would like to have a bit more punch too.  No Fabia vrs or Monte Carlo ( orxis there a Monte?)...I'd guess and hope that will change in a year or so... But maybe not, just like I doubt the octy will get an R/Quattro version.  However the fabia range missing a 1.4 tsi engine seems a bigger whole in the range to me.
