VRS TSI 2012 manual rev drop

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've had this on my car from as long as I remember, Does anyone else struggle with how fast the revs drop between shifts especially when cold.

When the car has been stood all night come the next morning until the car is up to operating temperature the revs drop so fast especially between 1st to 2nd gear. This causes the ride to be very jerky for the first few miles. Yes I could change gear quicker but when I'm driving casually I don't want to be doing lightning quick gear changes.

I find that if I want to drive casually driving at normal speeds taking it to 2500 - 3000RPM in 1st by the time I've put in the clutch and changed to 2nd the revs have dropped to idle and need to be dragged back up when 2nd is engaged.

Once the car has warmed up it's a lot better but is so inconsistent in the way the revs drop sometimes they hold for about half a second sometimes it drops like a stone.

Does anyone else experience this?

Thanks.
