main dealer quote for cruise

Featured Replies

Hi all

Skoda main dealer have just quoted me £230 all in to fit cruise control to my pd 100

They say 2/3 days to get the parts (if they can get them) not sure why they would day that. When ive searched the genuine parts are avaible

Anyways they want my car for a day??

I know tech1e does it for 160 using genuine parts.

So who thinks there quote is expensive or fair??

Fair imo. A good optional extra really so being genuinely fitted ain't bad.

It seems reasonable. ISTR it's less than quoted by several tuners.Consider getting quoted by Jabbasport or Unit18 too though. They may be cheaper.

Just msg jabbasport as theyre not far away. Unit18 too far away. Thanks for suggestions

I think that is exactly what I paid to have mine done at a main dealer mate. Personally I didn't think it was bad although I appreciate it isn't exactly pocket change.

Thanks. Are you happy with the work done. Did they offer a car whilst work done

Yes, job wise the installation is spot on and works an absolute treat. The Skoda dealer near me is pretty crap in terms of looking after customers so you've more chance of getting a flying pig than a courtesy car.

Well been told i can have courtesy car. BUT will have to insure the car fully comp 1st. Might see what they can offer.

Are you getting it done at the dealer I did then...?

£230 seems a fair price to me. It's a bit less than what I paid when I had it retrofitted to my 2013 Tig. I might be shot down in flames, with so many very knowledgeable folks in the forum, but I always opt for the dealer to fit anything electronic, then if it affects something else on the Maxidot I can tell them it's a Skoda fit and they will have to fix it under warranty.

Should be getting it done at dealers within next month. (Peterborough) branch.

I think you are making the right choice. OK you might save a tenner going elsewhere but I always use the dealer for electronic stuff then I know who to shout at if it affects the warranty.
