PID issue

Featured Replies

Does every pid randomly turn itself off at least once per trip or is it just mine?   Its annoying in the middle of a song but even more annoying when your using the satnav!

I feel like its an error but maybe its just a quirk?

Mine generally does not do this. It has the occasional hiccup, usually if I've switched the car off, but not removed the keys, but most of the time, it just works.

Mine never did that. It could be a dodgy connection so try cleaning the contacts.

Mine occasionally reboots itself for no reason. It's usually the base mounting connections.

I've just reset it as the car will be going tommorow [emoji17]

That is one reason why I have taken mine off. It is more trouble than it is worth to me. Dennis.

The only thing I didn't like about the PID was having to remove it when parked.

oh,  I don't even do that ... maybe I should lol

well, unless you want someone to smash your side window, nick it and sell it on ebay for £200 then maybe you should chuck the pid in the glove box? only takes a few seconds.

there is a mass market in stealing satnavs from cars, very hard to trace, and you wont get it back, and loose your no claims in the process. and the crims dont know its skoda specific... it works pretty well as a satnav just off a usb cable.

Car just over two years old and now on third PID.

Problems with bluetooth, cutting out, refusing to turn on. Glad I took the 5 year extended warranty as have no faith that this one will last any longer than it's predecessors.

In my humble opinion they are cack.

Are they Garmin or Navigon you've been having trouble with?
