First variable service Octavia III

Featured Replies

My 2 year old Octavia Estate has just been in for it's first variable service and oil change at 30000 km. All was fine but the service indicator is now saying the next inspection is due in 68 days. That can't be right so I think the garage (official Skoda) have messed up the reset? Does anyone have any other ideas and can I fix myself without taking the car back in? Thanks in advance.

Take it back - they have messed up.

You can reset with VCDS on the variable servicing.

Happened to me twice, first time it went back to fixed (10,000) miles, and the 2nd time it showed as yours. Is the variable really variable? Seems to just always need a service every 18,000 instead of every 10,000 (miles).

Hi there,

is the first service a "minor" or "major" service according to the Skoda fixed price service plan?

Not sure if it was minor or major but was first service and oil change after 2 years and 18000 miles. Have been back to garage who took 45 mins and two mechanics to reset it. They said it was the first 2013 model they have had in and Skoda have not told them how to do it! It now says two years until next service due but think I will take back in 12 months as frankly don't trust it!

It is an oil change.

Isn't the first variable upto 2 yrs then an inspection at 12mths after ?

The service manual is useless doesn't tell you when things like air/fuel/timing belt need doing. The 2014 onwards don't even have a Service manual I think.
