Hey all been thinking about removing my aircon for weight saving. What's involved and what needs to come off? Any tips?

Weather permitting mine's coming off next week, from what digging around I've done you'll only save around 15/16kg, only removing mine as it's never worked properly in the 8 years I've had the car and it makes a bit more room for my FMIC.

That's not bad tho. Iv already lost fair amount from the junk in the engine bay. Like you say more room for a fmic. I'm also thinking of loosing the spare wheel but not sure if it mess up the handling. Fancy taking some pics while u are removing it?
