Interesting yesterday - found a Cupra R right up behind me as I went down a sliproad to join a 3-lane A-road. I gave it moderate to high wellie, and he clearly had more power, and pulled away fairly easily, but since he would have 210 or 225 bhp over my 150 (and I'm in an estate), I wasn't that impressed with his speed. Maybe he wasn't really trying either.

Oh don't get me wrong - I have no issue with him passing me, I just thought that with that power it would be a bit more impressive.

IMO I takes a very un matched amount of horse power for a car to be truly left standing. 50-60 wouldnt make too much of a difference, he would pll away, but not overly quickly.

IMHO, you need something like 100bhp difference before you will seriously pull away from something, but there are also other factors like gearing, torque, etc, etc....
