Rear seat backs.

We recently bought a 4x4 Yeti and have come across a problem. I folded the rear seats and put some golf bags in the back go the car. On returning home it noticed how something under the seat back material was pushing into the material. I am concerned that over time this will actually create a hole in the material. Before I go trying to create some form of cover to protect the material I was wondering if this is a common issue that has already been remedied. Any thoughts? Thanks.

A good walk ruined!

Sorry, but where is this "something" sticking up?

A photo might help.

The rear seat backs in many cars are fabric covered or even just painted steel so they will take heavy weight when folded.

The Yeti isn't like that, and merely has a frame over which the fabric is stretched. It does mean that the covers can be unzipped for cleaning or replacement, but it does limit the load carrying capabilities of the car. I place a sheet of wood over the folded seat backs to spread the load, but this too causes problems if you then wish to move the seats upright again - where do you put the sheet of wood unless you've made it small enough to lie on the boot floor?!!!

I tend to agree about the good walk ruined. I did stop playing only to be conned back into playing for purely social reasons. The trouble is that I can become totally unsociable after losing the fourth ball in the three holes !!

I thought about the picture but that means taking a photo but that means technology. If you just run your hands over the back of the two outer seats I think that you will feel the bits sticking out.

I though about either putting an extra piece of carpet in the boot which can be moved or undoing the zips and sliding something under the fabric.

Still thanks for reading.

Bit of a b*ll acher, but have a piece of carpet in the boot, it sits on the floor and up the rear of the seats, attached by tape to the 2 outer head restraint stalks, I have a rough collie who sits/lies in there , it stops dog hair accumulating on the rear of the seats, bit problematic if folding of a seat is reqd to carry longish stuff

Therein  lies your problem, too much kinetic energy applied when putting clubs back into boot. :giggle:

I do, however agree to all the above comments.
