MFD and phone control

Featured Replies

I am only able to show the call log in the MFD using the steering wheel controls (pressing the call button).

I would prefer to have contacts shown in the MFD or at least my favorite contacts.

Have looked everywhere in the settings, it does not seem possible to change this.

I have a Bolero. Is this possible?

Is the phone control including MFD options better with Columbus?

No its bloody annoying that too.

You only have the call log....if you want to dial from the phonebook you need to either attempt to do so via Voice Control (which to suggest its unreliable is actually paying it rather a compliment....useless is more like it) or physically search them out on the touchscreen...again far from user friendly when on the move.

A bit of a back step from the Mk2....where you could call up the phonebook via the MFD and steering wheel controls.

Something else that bugs me to high heaven.....if you turn the ignition off whilst on a BT call the car cuts the connection. In my old Mk2 the headunit would remain on and keep the call up on handsfree until the call was ended.

Newer doesnt necessarily mean better in a few areas on the Octavia Mk3 thats for sure.

You can create favourites on the stereo phone screen, just like you would with radio presets.  I tend to use those, but yes they've really missed a trick with the mfd screen.  They should have developed a simple iPod style interface, then most if not all things could have been controlled by it.
