Marlborough Skoda

Featured Replies

I bought my Octavia vRS hatchback (Petrol, Race Blue) from Marlborough in Isleworth and collected it on 1st. June, 2012. I paid up front for the first two annual services
which were carried out efficiently and courteously. The car came fault free and has stayed that way so no warranty fixes have been needed.

I contacted Marlborough today to arrange an annual service before the warranty period expires on 31st. May, 2015 only to find that the business has closed down.

I have been very happy with both sales and service departments of this company and am sorry to see them go. Does anyone have any more information?

Likely another family business closure.

Skoda are dropping them like flies

I'm sorry to hear this, I bought my Yeti from them, they were excellent to deal with and would have bought another Skoda (if I was going to)from them without hesitation even though I live in Glasgow.

I found them very friendly, efficient and quite generous.

Never mind... i didnt read the OP properly!

They used to be the dealer that Drive the Deal used and we got our Yeti from them back in 2010.

The way the motor trade is going, there's unlikely to be any room for small, independent dealerships, which is a shame.

Having said that, a) there's no reason why bigger dealer groups can't train their staff to offer a more personal touch and B), the way most of us buy cars these days, frankly I'm not that bothered about the 'dealer experience' as price is generally the deciding factor.

As cars have generally got more reliable, there's also less incentive to use a local dealer who will 'help you out on a bank holiday Monday' if there's a problem.

I was shocked yesterday when I drove past and everything was gone. It had been quiet for a bit with little cats about but I assumed it was going to be revamped.

Personally I didn't use them through bad service in the past.

I can't help this is down to Skoda's new vision

I can't say I'm surprised.

We bought our first New Yeti there via DTD.

We didn't even get a cup of coffee.

I was in Starbucks and was not offered a new car.

I didn't buy my Yeti through dtd off Marlborough but they matched the price, free mudflaps and rubber mats along with a full tank of fuel, I never asked for them to be thrown in as part of the deal, they just told me they wouldn't charge for them. Near the day of collection they even offered me cash not to take the car such was the demand and wait for one, a very good offer too but I had waited 12 months and been without a car for 4weeks.

Shame they are no more.

Bought my Fabia from them in 2008 through Drive the deal. Found them very helpful. Sad that another dealer has gone. Strange that the website is still up and running.

I know this thread is quite old, I got my Octavia from them in 2009. Not very good coms, sold the car even though the alarm kept going off and I later found out the alloys had been refurbed before I took collection (warranty repair refused). I also had an issue with the steering wheel having indentations in the leather and told it was a natural product.

Also the small dealer in Walton also closed, they were rubbish and never got back to me and I tried to by a car.
