Finally got my car today! Though no SmartGate

Featured Replies

B@stards never even offered!

Can't see me having any leverage over the dealer on this one. I can't find Smartgate listed anywhere as an option either current or previously.

Shame.

.......... "so I've retrofitted it."

How easy was it to do? .................. have you or are you going to do a 'how to'?

I guess you need this and a bit of VCDS coding?

That is the correct kit.

No coding required, and it comes with instructions.

You need to remove 5 wires from the connector to the CAN Gateway and replace them with the ones in the supplied loom.

Easy to do and only the drivers side sill trim and the drivers side storage box need to be removed.

That's because it never has been, as I stated previously.

Ask your dealer why they didn't make you aware of an option that has been available for over 6 months ......

Sent you email sir, where did you buy your SmartGate kit from Andy?

Off some random in the Czech republic. You might be better off getting a German or Czech member to source you one and post it to you. The UK dealers want almost £200 for the kit!

...... And thanks for the email. The addendum doesn't really add anything other than the description of WiFi Direct.
