needless to say , no advisories ....

I can rest easy then, as long as I haven't broken the car at any point (or Updown for that matter)

Oi! Cheeky beggar

Well done. My fabia had an MOT a couple of weeks ago with 5 advisories.

ASh's (swmbo) has only done 18k , has only ever been back once for a heat shield, and was in perfect order, so i didn't think there would be an issue (we had a cheap headlight bulb blow and leave some glass in the lense, but they ignored that )

£180 for an MOT , service with brake fluid change, was all ok, but I dont trust my local dealer anymore since they failed to torque the bolts on the front wheels of my vRs :(

BUT at 3 years , your MOT is the end of your warrenty, so a dealer is the place to go , incase anything is wrong!

that's not too bad, its less than the advertised fixed price. a minor service is £139, an MOT £39 and a brake fluid change £49 on the skoda website.

Surely, it would be better NOT to go to the dealer for the first MOT, to avoid any temptation of mentioning anything a bit borderline that you could get done under the warranty, at Škoda's cost? My plan was to get an MOT at 35 months (elsewhere) and then return with any maintenance issues to the dealer before the warranty expires.

Any thoughts?

no the dealer gets paid by skoda for work they wouldn't be saving anything :)

...only the "fixed price" isn't fixed at all...it's a maximum you should be charged (it's in the small print). I was quoted £139 for a first service...when I said that people on here were paying less than a hundred....reply was " how does £90 sound?"....and that's exactly what they charged!
