Halogen Headlights-Flat Beam Switch

Featured Replies

Have been doing the prep for a continental trip in my Superb TdF and didnt want to use stick on converters (not obvious where they need to go for a start) so spent some time looking for the flat beam lever. For those of you with smaller hands and/or long fingers it is just about possible to reach and move.

I managed to get in through the rubber cover and took out the bulbs, on the nearside the lever is on the outside of the reflector dome and needs to be moved down (its a small movement if I did it right).....on the offside it is again on the outside of the dome and needs to be moved up.

It is a bit of a fiddle so I'll see how the flat beam works in the UK and if it isnt a problem I'll leave them switched to flat until next winter. I have some Osram upgrade bulbs so the lights were pretty decent before and I'm hoping that the loss of the nearside flicked up beam wont be a problem.....as yet I havent tried it on the road at night.

Hope this helps, pity the lever isnt more easily accessible as it was on the Volvo V50 I had before.........

You don't need to take out the bulbs. .... at least not on my pre FL

On my 2014 Tour De France it is just possible to reach the lever with the bulb out......I suspect there has been a redesign by Hella to make the task more difficult......the usual "progress"..........

Regards,

Mikemuncey .......   oh well, such is progress!

Do you have maxidot?

If so just use the travel option to adjust the beam.

Hi WaveyDavey - Maxidot adjustment only applies to the Xenon lamps.
