handbrake rolling

Featured Replies

I prefer electronic handbrake, leaves so much more space for everything else, dont really see the point of the stick any more, I dont race rally, and pretty much never have. Also with hill holder function, I really dont need manual handbrake.

The only downfall of using discs on the back rather than drums. Discs are good brakes but rubbish as handbrakes and drums are the other way round.

I'm not certain how the O3 handbrake applies, but typically rear discs feature a small drum for the handbrake, either separate or built into the disc hat...

I liked the handbrake on my Passat, when it was on it was on. No way that car was going anywhere. I remember my old man trying to move the car and

Not putting his belt on so it didn't auto release when he tried to pull away... It would have dragged the rear wheels before letting them turn.

The downside was it did go through 3 buttons in 7 years... And at £40 a go(I think they are now cheaper though) it was a bit of a pain, then just before it got chopped in the rear right caliper was playing up and VW wanted £350 for one

I'm pretty sure the VW range uses handbrake callipers not drum centered discs. My vrs will hold on any slop I've parked on with its normal two clicks although it may creep an inch as the pads settle
