door lock fault codes

Featured Replies

so i have fault code 00930 and 00929

im presuming its faulty door lock mechanisms in both doors, but could both be caused by broken wire at the front pillar?

ive seen the rosstech stuff thanks. but but would a broken wire in the front pillar effect the rear door too?

No the wiring is in the rear doors.

so im really looking at new lock mechanisms.

I would say yes, you can get OE speck parts on eBay for around £30 I've got three on mine and never had any issues with them and a lot cheaper than £100 from Škoda.

did you get garage to fit yours?  if so how much was labour out of interest?   ive seen the diy guides, but not massive fan of taking the door apart myself, tried before and got stuck releasing the window from the runners attached to the inner panel!

I fitted them myself it was quite straightforward. If taking to a garage expect 1-2 hours labour on top of the price of the part per door.

ill take another looks at the diy guides see where im going wrong,. once the inner panel is off should be piece of ****?

As long as you take your time and make sure you have all the tools needed i.e. spline bits for the lock and Torx bits for the door panel then you be ok. If you get stuck just ask and we can help.

much appreciated

The hardest parts were finding the spline bit, also called XZN iirc, which made searching ebay a lot easier, and getting the lock barrel out of the door, and getting the mech passed the regulator, just all the fiddling, other than that its just screws.

I bought a kit from Sealey which has them in. Try this on eBay 370838283899.

think i have a set of these ,..i think

You don't need to remove the window. iirc you just undo the runner and move it to one side.

thanks simspj much appreciated

I found with the window there was a sweet spot for its height which enabled easiest removal of the mech once one regulator was undone, just bends enough to maneouvre it out.  You may have to trial and error this a little but when you look in to get it out you'll see what I mean. Partly open window and support with gaffa tape over the top of the door, over a towel or rag too, stop sticky stuff getting on your paint.
