VCDS-lite help

Featured Replies

Just got VCDS-lite. Took a reading Fabia 1, 1.2L petrol, AZQ.

6 Faults in total.

1,  Address 01: Engine Labels: Redir Fail! 17811 -  EGR System: Regulation Deviation  P1403 - 35-10 -   - - Intermittent

2, Address 01: Engine 17511 -  Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor Heating; B1 S1: Performance too Low  P1103 - 35-10 -   - - Intermittent

3, Address 09: Cent. Elect.       01598 -  Drive Battery Voltage  07-10 -  Signal too Low – Intermittent

4, Address 17: Instruments     00771 -  Fuel Level Sensor (G)     30-10 -  Open or Short to Plus – Intermittent

5, Address 17: Instruments 01314 -  Engine Control Module  49-10 -  No Communications - Intermittent

6, Address 44: Steering Assist       01317 -  Control Module in Instrument Cluster (J285)  79-00 -  Please Check Fault Codes

This was to try and find an intermittent fault that I’d previously posted.  I bought another coil and the intermittent fault, missing at 45 to 60 mph has not recurred for a week now.  I did this prior to taking the plunge, parting with cash and getting a cable and buying VCDS-lite. (When I get the time and understand the VCDS better, I’ll put the faulty coils back in and see what the VCDS makes of them.)

Now I have all the above faults on a print out and the car is running well?

Can someone please either point me in the direction of how to find info to understand these faults and what to do to fix them, or just tell me what’s going on, I’m bambozeled?

17811 means your EGR valve is sometimes sticking in positions other than what the ECU has demanded. There's a painfully long thread about my experiences with this which will probably come up if you do a search on that number in this forum.

Thanks Guys, although looking at the Ross-Tech stuff...

If the car is running well then just clear all the codes and see what comes back.
