Recommendation - Flush USB Port Cigarette Adapter

Featured Replies

Hi ,

I have remove the cigarette lighters as they are too tempting for the kids. Has anyone a recommetndaton for a flush cover that would act as a USB Port. I know there are a lot our there but it would be good to have it fit perfectly in the Superb

Thanks John

The Belkin brand has these;

Seem to be "micro" enough. You should be able to find them in most electronic good stores.

Another option is replacing the cigarette lighters with "12V socket"-plugs;

I use the belkin ones. Bought them off eBay and they are a good product.

Another vote for the Belkin - works well and blends right in too :thumbup:

I have had the same Belkin one for about three years with no issues.

Often leave it plugged in (nothing connected) without issues.

You should get the vw torch that goes in the cig lighter

Hi All,

Thanks for the tips - have ordered the belken and a sunkin.

With the sockets being live, even with the ignition off, any concerns over these being left in place 24/7?

John

I've left the Belkin in for days (with nothing connected to it) without any issues.

I have just ordered the 1 x Belkin pictured above and 1 x Belkin new style with green outer ring. Will put 1 in the front and 1 in the back.

I have just ordered one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00M6Q83B4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00 - a flush looking dual USB chappie - will report back when it arrives.

Just arrived. It seems fine, but the other recommendations above are probably just as good if not better. It is possible to remove it without too much hassle as although it is nearly flush the rim is easy to grip to pull out. Nice to have twin USB sockets on it.

It would be interesting to measure if these things do draw any current if left inserted, or if they are smart enough to only do so when something is connected.
