Sadly i’m putting up for sale our much loved MX5. We’ve had her for about 4years and spent a lot on her keeping on top of things that many would just leave. Unfortunately as I am a carer for my elderly father we have just not been able to use her as much i’d have liked. So with my son wanting to go to university and all that will cost, we’ve decided to put her up for sale. 

 

The Good Stuff:

The spec is as follows. 02 plate Mazda MX5 Phoenix 1.6i 16V

Mileage Approx. 88,500

Last service October 2014

MoT April 2015 (no advisories)

Will be re-taxed at the end of the month, but as you know under the recent tax changes this no longer transfers.

 

In Titanium grey with Sienna brown leather upholstery 

Usual Titanium spec includes heated seats, electric mirrors, electric ariel and windows, remote central locking. Colour coded tonneau cover in it’s protective cover and limited edition Phoenix carpet mats and badges. 

 

In addition it comes with the following genuine dealer options

TT Style bar and wind deflector

Also but not pictured: Hardtop with MX5 Parts cover/hanger and genuine Mazda luggage rack with correct heavy duty boot springs and bump stops

New radiator

New roof tensioner spring (a Mazda recall)

Extensive paint work correction plus repairs to sills (Painter Dave)

Four alloys refurbished

Four good Uniroyal Rainsports Tyres (excellent on this chassis)

New clutch

Recon gearbox - & new seals

Professional wax oil treatment to chassis 

New rear springs

New front discs pads and callipers

 

Spares including a spare steering wheel and other trim parts removed for the dealer option are included as is the original radio CD

 

Comes with original keys and remote as well as the new integrated alarm

 

Extensive history folder with receipts for most work

 

The not so good:

The front bumper has a few chips and could do with a refresh & there is a small blister on the nearside front wheel arch. The leather has been regularly treated, but the divers seat is showing some ageing. The soft top is still the genuine Mazda synthetic one, and has a couple of fold marks on the very edge, but the seals are tight, the cabin is dry and the drains are checked regularly. Overall as a regular driver, she’s in superb condition.

 

In it’s present form with all the extra’s, i’m looking for £2,575 (the hard top alone could be sold for £400!). I’m also willing to fully revert her back to standard if you’d prefer for £2,150. But if you want standard, you’d probably get more buying as is and stripping the parts off for yourself!!!

 

She drives very well having had 4 wheel alignment done by Rodders (Roddison Motorsport) and starts first time, having always been on a trickle charger since we got her, theres never been a battery issue.

 

She’s located in Sheffield and is ready for the summer and with the hard top you are safe in winter too!!

 

Go on, you know you’d like one, and Mk2.5’s in this condition are getting scarce!
