Rear parking sensor wiring fault

Featured Replies

Hi all, my wifes 05 Fabia has factory fitted rear parking sensors and they have become inoperative. I put my vcds on and it came up with rear right G206 parking sensor short to plus. I tried switching sensors around and the same fault code came up, so not a sensor fault. I guessing wiring or connection fault somewhere, all looks fine on the actual plug that connects to the sensor, but then it all gets lost in the loom that goes into the spare wheel body somewhere.

Has anyone encountered this problem or knows where there may be a break or short in the wiring somewhere? Is this a common fault? Can't find nothing on here or via google!

When the fault is cleared via vcds and it is put into reverse with someone at the back waving their hand over each sensor it works for a bout 3 seconds, then we get a long beep and nothing else! This is testing all four sensors. Then the fault code re-appears and needs to be deleted again.

Cheers for all the advice in advance!

Craig.
