Does my Superb have phone capability?

Featured Replies

Hi I have just bought a 2009 elegance 1.8 TSI that has Sat Nav, Radio etc but when I press Phone button or set up and telephone it seems like the options are not there (ie they don't have the green square round the option). Above the screen it just says Skoda Auto yet the book that came with it says Columbus, Does that make any difference? Thanks Martin

If it's the same as the Octavia you need the bluetooth module connected to the HU to make the phone work through the Radio.

Have you paired your phone to your car?

Welcome

Try paring the phone (via the maxidot) you can confirm that the bluetooth module is (still) present by looking under the plastic cover that is situated under the front edge of the drivers seat (put the seat back as far as possible.

Hi I followed the instructions to pair the phone from skoda manual. I opened the phone first turned on ignition and scrolled through maxidot menu but nothing showing for phone? Does that mean no bluetooth?

I pulled the plastic cover back but don't really know what i'm looking for. I took a photo under my seat but can't for the life of me find how to attach it here as none of the icons above have an attach option. if someone can tell me how I willsend it or maybe someone can send me what bluetooth kit looks like?

Thanks

The module (under the plastic cover) will look something like this:

That looks like what I took a picture of. How do I get my picture into here like your one above so that you can check it?

Look here for info how to insert a photo, personally I click on the green square icon just below the smiley face and paste in the address of the photo (the photo needs to be stored online) but there are other ways as described in that link.

On the module there will be a part number something along the lines of: 3C8 035 730 D this will tell us if the module is still fitted and what type is fitted.

The Elegance had Columbus and bluetooth as std, but anything could have happened to the car in the last 6 years so it’s impossible to tell over the ‘net if its still working.

The best way would be to get the car scanned with VCDS, there are several members on here with VCDS (click on the link in my signature)

I am in Folkestone and can scan the car if you wish?

Hi the number thats on a label wrapped around one of the leads is 3T0 035 723 B and the label that's on the metal box is 5N0 035 730 B. I went through maxi dot via the rotating wheel on the steering wheel but there is no option for phone?

Thanks Martin

It does seem strange that the module is there but it's not showing up in Maxidot.

Personally I would be scanning the car with VCDS to see if there is an issue.

Are you trying pair an iphone? If so that module is too dated for it as it only uses the rSAP method of connection which Apple dislikes. See the thread pinned to the top of this sub forum.

A 3c8 035 730 d or e module can be swapped straight in and can be had for less than a 100 quid on ebay these days.

Hi success at last!  Yesterday I had to pop in to Skoda to get a quote for a repair and so I mentioned that I was having problems with bluetooth. He went into maxidot and I think went straight to devices as I told him that I couldn't find an option for phone. Straight away it picked up my phone and pared it. I then went into Columbus under options and got it to import my phonebook which took a while but all my contacts are now there! I have set my presets and got my wife to call my number and her call came through loud and clear. So all seems to be working well now. Thank you all for your help and good news that I do not have to buy another module!
