can anyone tell me where a can get a front right door lock mechanism for a 2008 skoda fabia. Without going to the dealer

Possibly eBay but you'll need to know which one of the variants first.  Does it have central locking? Is the central locking remote controlled?

Thanks for your reply. Yeah the car has central locking but only of the key in the door. Will check which one it is over the weekend.

Are they easy to fit do you know?

It'll be a fair bit of work. Door trim needs to be removed and I think the window regulator needs to come out too.
