Here are some of the photos I took while installing the PDC kit, not many as the weather turned so had to crack on!

I've installed this on my 2013 Monte tech and it works perfectly, much more simpler to install than I first thought and possibly the hardest part was removing the two wiring pins from the rear light, what a ball ache that was!

To start off this is the kit I used, the genuine Skoda one BEA710001 that has flush fit sensors, from Skoda this retails for £200 but there are other sites that sell it for slightly less, I picked mine up from eBay for less than half that!

Sensors painted, I didn't feel it was worth getting these professionally done although I did seek professional advice and was told spray cans were more than efficient to do the job.

I used halfords ones, candy white off the shelf and the colour match is near perfect, I was advised to use minimal covering of paint as this can interfere with the signal of the sensor so two coats of primer, paint and lacquer and there were ready.

I didn't pain the outside ring as I wanted as much of a factory look as possible also it's rubber and the paint would've eventually cracked and peeled!

Remove the bumper, I used a guide on here and it was perfect.

My biggest worry was not only drilling the holes but where the holes would be positioned, I found out that sensor holes on Octavia bumpers are pre marked and this is the case on the fabia too, perfect.

Give the are a good clean and degrease, the guide recommends you start drilling from the outside of the bumper and finish on the inside so I drilled a small pilot hole as a guide on the outside of the bumper.

Holes drilled using a cone drill, very easy to do just be patient and slow!

Finish them off with a fine file to remove and rough bits.

This is where a lot of steps got missed, everything needed is in the instruction manual.

The kit plugs into the rear light socket by removing two pins and making a loop in the circuit, you can't go wrong!

The manual advises locating the speaker in the roof lining and cutting a hole to recess it, no thanks so I mounted mine behind the panel that needs to be removed to gain access to the rear light wiring just above the "vent" look at the panel and look up you'll see what I mean, the speaker is loud and works perfectly fine here.

Time to test it! A nice audible beep when reverse is selected to say the system is working and I was chuffed when all 4 sensors worked at the test of my hand, perfect!

It certainly is, glad I didn't pay the Skoda price for it!

I bought that kit initially and its great. I then bought the OPS kit that is factory fitted because I wanted to hook up to the HU

 

Since then though you can buy an interface for the eps kit to allow you to connect to the HU apparently

That's what I'm wanting to do link it to the HU, you got a link or is it a LL kit ?

My VRS had this already installed when i bought it, the plastic bit the speaker sits in also flashes with the beeps which is why i think they advise you put it in the head lining so it can be seen in the rear mirror,

Given that you just did this, can you tell me how can the sensors be detached from the bumper? Or a photo maybe? I was trying to do so when removing the weights off my vRS but couldn't get them off easily and didn't want to keep pulling afraid of breaking smt. I also want to replace the bumper myself at some point due to a light scratch and I'd rather order the part, drill the holes and replace it myself. Thanks.

@R1chard  being the 'tech edition' does your car have the 'Amusnden' head unit? If so, did you look into the reverse camera option also?

They can either be separated by un clipping the wiring on each sensor or the sensor itself can be unclipped from its holder, I'd go for the latter as it's not as fiddly.

Its something LL do. their HQ is about 2 miles from me and I called in to try and scavenge a couple of bits that I broke. I saw the items and they said they had just released them. 2 fit women - worth calling in just for that lol

Ive got the Skoda kit sat in the garage waiting to fit sometime soon, glad to hear that the instructions included work well
