Radiator Fan switch

Featured Replies

Down to some fabulous posts on here, I believe that I have confirmed that my radiator Fan switch is broken.

One thing I could not find is does it matter which part number switch I buy?

6U0959481d / e / a

Most people seem to say d is the best but does it matter depending on the engine.

1.3 Mpi on a R plate (97/98)

Thank you!!

6U0959481D is for Felicia 1.3 and 1.6

6U0959481A is for Felicia 1.9D and cars with A/C and power steering.

6U0959481E is for Favorit

Bought the part from europart, fitted and then realised the electrical terminals are wrong.

Existing terminals are vertical and parallel like so: | |

New terminals: --

Part arrived in genuine Box etc. Is it

A) the wrong part

B ) my existing thermostat is wrong

Thanks in advance

As long as the thread of the switch fits in the radiator thread and the temperature range is 97 - 92 C, you're good.

Third party manufacturers may change the design. I've seen both shapes on 1.3 engines.

Ah ok thanks, I've found the correct plug on a redundant fog light wire so cut it off there and connected it to the fan switch wires. (as needed it done tonight so Couldn't order a plug) Just a bit odd that they use varied design when the - - connector is so.universal.

It had the part number that matched the one you kindly gave me previously so I'll just go drive and get it up to the high temperature to check it now works.

Thank you
