Hi guys, my VRS is due to be built next week (22) or the week after (23.)

There don't really seem to be any meaningful changes. Only that the illumination on the steering wheel is changed from green to white.

Loads of talk re the new MIB II head unit but nothing definitive on exactly what that means. Some say it's the same screen size with a higher resolution, others are saying it's a larger screen and lots are saying there's no CD player which in truth, I feel indifferent about. Everybody seems agreed that Smartlink will be an option (as per the brochure.)

Is anybody in possession of the facts around what MY16 entails??

think its going to be wait and see, mine is getting built bw23, i was hoping folding mirrors would have become std, i hope it still has a cd player, as i like to randomly select a cd from my collection of 500+ cd and just listen to it in the car, my spec is rio red , black pack, folding mirrors, colour maxidotsunset and pictoris alloys, its going on pch

I've gone for Moon white, black pack, colour maxi dot, Amundsen, spare wheel (exciting I know ;-), sunset glass.

Would quite like a CD player too but I'm an iPhone nut so will Bluetooth the music if need be or put it on an SD card.

The colour maxi is a paid option in the Uk? That is cheap....

Cant confirm but I have a suspicion the MIB2 units being employed in cars like the Yeti and VW Scirocco (i.e cars that are getting MQB electronics and engines but are not based on the MQB chassis architecture) are still double DIN in-dash units, perhaps dont have space for the CD player and perhaps explains the loss of this capability on these vehicles?

I believe the Golf with MIB2 Composition Media and Discover Nav units still employ a CD player depending on the unit in the infotainments "brains" held in the glovebox.

Id be surprised if the MIB2 Bolero and Amundsen units in the Octavia lose the CD drive but its a possibility....perhaps someone with a recently built Yeti could confirm on their forum?
