Reliable Octavia

Featured Replies

OK.

Cept for the DSG anomoly, got near 80,000 on & approaching  5 years ownership, and intend to take another 100,000 to 150,000 out of her.

Timing belt will get done at 100,000.

Fingers crossed

Marcus

Pah....80,000 miles. :D

We've got a 2005 Octavia that came in as a PX last year with a mere 615,000 miles. Still on the original engine and gearbox and still drives remarkably well.

What engine and transmission btw?, of idle coursity, and presumably a 24/7 triple shifted taxi?

Though with the origional gearbox perhaps more likely a single owner driver?

Yes an ex-taxi....engine is a 1.9. Was very well looked after....has had 10 cam belt changes.

We've also had other Octavia 2's with high mileage....one with 495,000 and the other with 375,000....both drove perfectly and were 1.9's

Two were BJB's and one was a BXE

How much did you sell them for and did anyone buy them?

Or did they go straight to auction?

I've kept the one with 611,000 miles and its being used as a spares car for bits of trim, lights, wheels etc, which we sometimes need.

The other two were sold to some Czech guys who take them back to the Czech Republic and strip them for parts  etc etc.
