Personally I wouldn't even touch it mate, straight back to the dealers ;)

Absolutely, straight back to the dealer. I had the instruments replaced on my first yeti within a week or so of buying it

As above. Otherwise it's going to be "You tried to fix it, so you must have broke it". I speak with a certain degree of experience. My last car was a Volvo bought at 18 months old. Quickly had to go to my local dealer with the first of what was to become many problems. Whilst there the technician spotted one of the headlights out of adjustment which turned out to be the bulb holder had been broken off and the bulb was hanging in the housing off three cheap connectors. Went back to the supplying dealer whose response was "Well, you must have done it". To an 18 month old car I'd had for a matter of weeks and still in warranty? Eventually resolved after a bit of a battle but like Recarouk I'd say straight back to the dealer, no question about it.

Sage advice chaps. Taking it back to the supplying dealer is not going to happen due to distance and work but I'll ring my local Skoda dealer in the morning.

When mine was done, it was the local dealer, not the supplying dealer, that did it under warranty

I'm hoping it's as well covered under the 1 year used warranty as it is under the new car warranty. These things really shouldn't fail at 5.5 years old and 50k though.

Typically it's now not doing it! Will keep an eye onit and as soon as it does it again get footage on my phone. That way if I take it to the dealer and it's working I have evidence.

I would still be calling the supplying dealer to get the issue on record. Should be covered by the approved used warranty and sorted by any dealer, provided the issue isn't due to the previous owner interfering with it - in which case the argument will have to be with the supplying dealer.

This is why I prefer to 'buy local' even if it does sometimes cost a little more.
