Happy 2nd Birthday!

Featured Replies

2 years ago I took delivery! We've had some ups, some downs, but 49k miles down the road and the O3 has not let me down mechanically! Here's to the next couple of years and it's off to the dealers tomorra for it's 4th service, first three were on fixed interval, and now it's on variable as I'm paying the bills!

I wonder if they'll notice the stilts have finally been removed!

Wow, you must have one of the oldest Mk3s out there?

Second birthday for mine on 15th June - one rogue airbag warning light the only fault in 36k miles.

Also switched from fixed to variable servicing at the third free one!

Only outlay has been one set of tires, only just changed fronts, Michelin Primacy HP lasted and still lots of life in the ones from the rear.

MInes is 6 months old 3000miles and has had 3 front wheel bearings and I ditched the Pirelli p-zero's for goodyear eagle f1 assymetric 2's

My old one would have been 2 at the beginning of April - launch weekend demonstrator - I feel sorry for whoever has it now :) :) :)

Mine is 1 at the weekend.   Booked in for its first (dealer) service next week... And to get them to investigate a teenie tiny coolant loss issue.... Water pump anyone?   Still, I'll take a free new water pump and coolant change on the warranty.

I did order on launch weekend so I am one of the founder O3 members! Stokey was the first to order, from the same dealer as me, back in Feb 13 as far as I'm aware and I think he took delivery about 6 weeks before me. Andy probably did have the oldest ex-demo Mk3 on Briskoda until he defected for his brown interior and pipe n slippers!

Anyway, had the service today and looks like I spoke too soon about mechanical issues! Not technically a breakdown but I've been having a few issues with the gear selector jumping when in reverse and occasionally, engaging 1st after a reverse results in the car staying in reverse even though 1st is selected, not ideal! Thought it was going to be the usual "sorry we can't find anything wrong" but to my amazement, they found a fault with the gear selector mechanism and have ordered a replacement!

Congratulations on the two years of happy motoring! The gear linkage had to be replaced on my car a few months ago too and we'd only done 18,000 miles.
