Hi Henry and welcome to the forum,

I would recommend you contact your dealer who should be able to advise.

Cheers

Hi Rick,

Yes!! I try to the dealer, but dealer can not do it.

I hope someone can teach me, how do it.

about the Skoda in Taiwan is new brand, This brand has just officially entered Taiwan.

Although all previous dealers in sales, but still only a few people know.

People who have tried to change their media centre head unit have not been able to get their upgrade working as the replacement units can not be coded to their cars as all VAG cars, including Skoda, have their original media unit hard coded to the car and VAG prevent any new unit being recoded to work. No one has yet found a way round this. I assume this is the basis of the problem you are experiencing - sorry for the bad news.

Currently upgraded head units can only be coded to work in a car while it is being built on the production line - it is not possible to retrofit any alternative VAG head unit.

You can always fit an aftermarket head unit like the new VAG compatible Sat-Navs from Kenwood..

In the uk, the most basic audio console in the O3 is the bolero, so you may find our knowledge of the swing (and host?) Lacking, for the O3 at least. Although I guess a screen/head unit change is similar whether swing, bolero Amundsen, or culumbus.

There is an ICE (in car entertainment) sub forum on briskoda, you might want to ask there too.

Have you tried just swaping the units and read out the errors?

To change between bolero to amundsen or columbus will automatic engage the map license failure but swing head unit doesent have navi, one problem less to solve :)

From amundsen to columbus take approx 40min to swap, the map licens file check needs to be disabled via green menu before swaping the units.

So long as you can get around the component protection (with the help of a willing dealer) then cant imagine this would be too problematic given they are both non-nav units.

Probably be cheaper to go for a MIB1 Bolero though....thoroughly nicer than the swing and no doubt easier to source too.

We never got the swing in the UK, even the lowest spec model gets Bolero. Gather the unit is a traditional in dash headunit so the brains are in the HU in the centre console and not in the glovebox. The different wiring might prove a challenge therefore.

Perhaps the MIB2 Swing is the same architecture and just does without a CD drive for packaging reasons....in which case if you can get one may prove more straightforward for those reasons.

oh!!

This is bad news, I do not like this swing host, I think that can be replaced when buying a car after, because dealers in sales can not select a host..........
