I have an 07 plate octavia vrs estate recently purchsed without a sat nav disc for the Nexus system.Dealers advise me the disc is no longer available.I understand the part no is

ZGB000051200GB.I have e mailed Navigationmaps.co.uk but without a response. There various discs on e bay but not by part no.Has anyone had a similar problem and how was it resolved? Also the radio reception is poor and RDS inoperative, reception doesn't seem to differ whether the aerial mast is fitted or not.Is this the aerial amp at fault?Grateful for your suggestions.

I know you can buy the discs, but they are (were when I was looking) around £100 or more for a later one.

Even the early ones circa 2005 / 2006 go for pretty good money.

If you can afford it, and you use it a bit, and you plan to keep the car a while, I would consider upgrading. I think a Columbus would be the favoured option.

There are threads on this.

The Nexus is ok, but only just ok. If you are using it inner city I would definitely upgrade, or use a Tomtom.

Aerial reception - no idea, sorry.

Think they stopped 'updated ' discs last year. Mine came with the Nexus and I bought a 'back up' disc off ebay for a fraction of the official discs (the later ones were done by Tom Tom IIRC). It worked fine but when I saw they were going to stop doing them I went and bought a Garmin unit. Radio reception is more than likely the aerial base. I had to replace mine and believe me it aint cheap because of the GPS part of it. :x
